Newzealand Vs West Indies Test

After the T20 series, West Indies head for Seddon Park ground inHamilton city for the First test for the Two Test series starting today (3rd Dec.2020).

The two teams met 3 times before this Test today. And Newzealnd won all the 3 tests against Windies with very good margins like by 9 wickets in 1999, 8 wickets in 2013 and 240 runs in 2017.

Seddon Park is recognized as one the cricket world’s best ” Boutique” grounds is situated in Hamilton, Newzealand Hamilton is on the river Waikato and is an important business and entertainment Hub.

This stadium is owned and managed by H3, a Business Group that specializes in Venue management based at Hamilton.

It is a regular stop for touring teams to play here with a crowd capacity of 10,500 people.

Tree-lined grassy banks around two-thirds of the ground give Seddon Park a distinct ‘village green’ feel, and were noted as one of its striking features by influential cricket magazine The Cricketer, which in 2012 rated it as one of the 20 best Test cricket venues in the world.

Originally designed for recreational use in 1864. But In 1906 the ground was named after former New Zealand Prime Minister Richard Seddon. It hosted its first international cricket match an ODI in 1981 and became a Test cricket venue in 1991 when New Zealand played Sri Lanka. A year later the ground hosted two matches as part of the 1992 Cricket World Cup and in 2015 three ICC Cricket World Cup matches took place there.
